I wish to contribute to the unique site by offering an article related to the field which I attached with. Diabetes is a disease that occurs in people body when their metabolism becomes disordered and their blood sugar levels shoot up abnormally.

It is called Diabetes mellitus in clinical terms. It attacks a person\'s body when his insulin plunges below the required level. Insulin is a hormone that controls the blood sugar levels. 

As per the calculations of the World Health Organization, near about 171 million fall victims to this menace all over the world. The disease is becoming more widespread with time. Though its occurrence has been noticed in almost all nations, it is the developed nations that suffer more from this ailment. 
Among the continents, Africa and Asia are likely to become the most diabetes affected regions in the coming future. It is being considered among the 10 most important diseases seen in the developed nations. There are some variants of the disease. However in all its forms the disease is definitely a lifestyle induced disease which can be controlled by moderation in lifestyle.
 
What Causes Diabetes?
 
The doctors feel that the increase in the occurrences of the disease is largely due to the changing lifestyle of the urban people and their addiction to fast foods and lack of a proper diet. The genetic causes are also considered as one of the main factors leading to the disease. 
 
A majority of the diabetes stem from heredity and has a genetic cause. Some forms of the disease happen due to some kind of viral infections as well as stress. Even the exposure to certain drugs or chemicals can lead one to the menace. A variant called Type 2 diabetes is strongly related to inheritance.
 
Symptoms of Diabetes
 
Diabetes can bring certain complications in one\'s health and life. The most perceptible and common symptom of the disease is excess production of urine. A person afflicted with the disease feels thirsty all the time. As a result his or her rate of fluid intake shoots up abnormally. 
 
The affected person may suffer from blurred vision. He may also experience unexpected loss of weight. 
Lethargy in day to day work is another prominent symptom of the disease. If diabetes is not treated in time it can lead to severe ailments that have deadly consequences. Some of the long term effects of the disease are cardiovascular ailments, retinal damage, renal malfunctioning and even impotence.
 
Diabetes Types
 
According to the classification followed by WHO, Diabetes can be of three main types. They are type2, type 1 and gestational diabetes. The last variant is mostly seen in women who have conceived. All of the variants are ultimately caused by the inability of the beta cells in the pancreas to generate adequate insulin. While Gestational diabetes usually ends with the birth of the child, the other two types persist and require adequate treatment. Insulins availability has made the disease largely curable.
 
Diabetes Treatments
 
The treatment for diabetes is a continuous process as the disease can not be cured but a person can follow the advice of the doctors along with the medicines to keep the blood sugar levels down. In some cases of type 1of Diabetes the pancreas of an afflicted person is replaced.
 
Some obese patients suffering from Type 2 diabetes are treated with gastric bypass surgery. To diagnose the diseased people should go for periodical screening for the disease.
