He also secured his masters in Surgery from the National Board (DNB).He completed his fellowship in Bariatric surgery from Tugun, Australia and the Weill-Cornell University at NYC. He’s also been honoured with the Honorary Fellow in Advanced laparoscopy by the Indian Association for Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES).

He constantly pushes the envelope in the field of metabolic research and has numerous publications and presentations to his name. His ongoing research (the NASHOST trial) will show what Obesity and Obesity surgery do on non alcoholic fatty liver diseases. When surgeons in India are used to follow the western literature and guidelines, Dr.Praveen wants to create Indian guidelines for the world to follow and has commenced the trial on lower BMI metabolic surgery for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, which when completed will be the first of its kind in the world.
